Empowering Future Tech Leaders

Barclays Eagle Labs has unveiled the Eagle Labs Academy, an innovative online skills platform designed to foster the growth of aspiring entrepreneurs aiming to lead the tech industry’s future giants. This initiative, backed by the Department for Science Innovation and Technology (DSIT), is set to offer a range of curated learning experiences tailored to the unique challenges of starting and scaling a tech-focused enterprise.

On-Demand Learning for Tech Startups

The Academy will be a resource hub for the upcoming generation of tech entrepreneurs, providing a variety of classes that cover essential topics such as securing funding and crafting an inaugural business plan. The platform’s flexibility allows users to engage with self-paced, on-demand, and interactive content at their convenience.

Barclays’ Commitment to Tech Innovation

Amanda Allan, director of Barclays Eagle Labs, expressed enthusiasm about the new platform, highlighting it as a significant addition to the support programs already offered to tech startups and their founders. Allan anticipates that the Eagle Labs Academy will inspire a new cohort of tech entrepreneurs to transform their concepts into successful enterprises, contributing to the burgeoning digital economy.

A Comprehensive Curriculum

Initially, the Academy will feature 14 comprehensive modules, which are further broken down into 60 individual lessons. These lessons include founder videos and insights, as well as downloadable templates. The platform is designed to be user-friendly, with a personalized dashboard for tracking progress and mobile-friendly access for learning on the move.

Government Support for the Tech Ecosystem

Saqib Bhatti MP, the minister for tech and the digital economy, highlighted the UK’s preeminent position in the startup landscape, with a higher count of tech unicorns than France and Germany combined. Bhatti attributes this success to the government’s commitment to nurturing the tech sector. The Eagle Labs Academy, supported by a £12 million Digital Growth Grant, is expected to play a pivotal role in developing the skills of future tech entrepreneurs, thus stimulating economic growth and job creation.
