A SCOTTISH IT, cyber security and internet service provider has extended its collaboration with Aberdeen Football Club for the fourth year running. The Club’s ‘By Official Appointment’ (BOA) scheme aims to bring together local businesses and loyal AFC fans to generate more business, boost the local economy and help supporters secure the best possible deals.
Converged Communication Solutions is one of over 90 local businesses taking advantage of the prestigious membership opportunity with the football club, in which companies keen to support their local team pay an annual subscription fee to secure a Club licence entitling them to ‘By Official Appointment’ status, together with a series of valuable features and benefits.
Converged’s Managing Director, Neil Christie, explains: “We’re delighted to have upgraded our membership this year to affiliate level. This increased investment will benefit staff, their families, and clients alike, who will be able to enjoy the matchday experience through our BOA season tickets and annual corporate hospitality. In addition, we get a great deal from the BOA networking events, where fellow members showcase their services and share business advice.
“During Covid, and as we all adjusted to working remotely, our cyber team shared advice on how to stay safe online at a dedicated awareness session for BOA associates. We are planning a second workshop for those new to the scheme in the Autumn. It’s this type of information sharing that makes BOA a standout network.”
The company’s commitment to its local club goes beyond BOA however, as Neil, continues: “We have a longstanding relationship with AFC, having first provided technical support services over a decade ago. Since then, we’ve delivered IT security, connectivity, cyber certification, and staff awareness training to the teams at both Pittodrie and Cormack Park.
“Fans may well recognise our bright pink LED adverts that run pitch-side at every home match, and we have a growing collection of memorabilia from being boot or in safe hands sponsors each season. At Converged, supporting local businesses is high on our agenda and we’re delighted to continue the BOA collaboration well into the future,” says Neil.
“The BOA scheme exists to leverage the buying power of our loyal supporters and increase the customer base and sales of participating companies, through the increased credibility they secure via their direct association with the Club,” adds Adam Sinclair, B2B Sales Manager, Aberdeen Football Club. “It’s a fantastic way of uniting local businesses and we’re delighted to be continuing our alliance with Converged into 2023 and beyond.”
