IT services and solutions provider, Capito Ltd, has appointed Mark Gibson as managing director.

Bringing more than 25 years of global senior management experience, Mark will play a key role in developing and executing the company’s business strategy, particularly in operations and sales management.

Mark’s appointment comes as the Livingston-headquartered firm, which employs 38 people, is poised for a major nationwide expansion.

Integral to plans are further joint projects with key partners such as Microsoft, Pure Storage, HP and Citrix which have seen Capito expand its portfolio of major clients, which includes the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, Harper Macleod LLP, NHS Grampian, Baxters Food Group Limited, and the Scottish Prison Service.

Prior to joining Capito, Mark held senior roles in several IT companies, including SAS/Memex where he played a pivotal role in the sale and subsequent integration of Memex, and creation of the SAS Global Public Security Unit. More recently at BLOXX, he was responsible for driving business development, sales and strategic partner relationships on both sides of the Atlantic, which ultimately led to a sale to Akamai Technologies in November 2015.

Mark has an MBA from the University of Strathclyde, and has worked extensively in North America, the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

Chairman Alan Quinn commented: “I am delighted that a professional of Mark Gibson’s calibre will be joining our team as managing director. Mark comes to us with a wealth of experience in the IT industry and we are confident that his leadership will usher in a new era of strategic growth at Capito.”

Mark Gibson added: “This is an exciting time to be joining Capito. Our team has never been stronger and all are committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients by providing them with the technology solutions that they need to achieve their business goals. I see a tremendous opportunity ahead to be the undisputed trusted IT partner of choice to both the private and public sectors across the UK. I look forward to the challenge of helping Capito to realise its ambitions.”
