Proteus, the change and transformation consultancy, is looking to enhance its trademark data insights, IP and technology credentials as it scales up. The business today announced the appointment of Craig Fenton as Chief Operating Officer as well as four new additions to the software team at its Edinburgh office. Further expansion is planned in the coming months.
Drawing on decades of codified project data, knowledge and insights, Proteus’ intelligent toolset is central to its proposition, giving organisations the clarity and certainty they need to respond to change and deliver more successful business outcomes.
After the acquisition of intelligent change delivery platform Sharktower in February 2022, Proteus is committing significant investment to further enhance its data insights and technology solutions for clients as a key plank of its forward strategy. The arrival of Craig and the team will be instrumental in enacting this plan.
Craig Fenton joins Proteus as Chief Operating Officer after 30 years’ in the tech sector. Over the years he has gained wide-ranging experience of service management, business IT consulting, ICT programme management and digital transformation. Most recently he was COO at Data Innovation.AI, a technology start-up. Previously he spent 16 years at global consultancy PTS, where he was a partner and part of the management team running UK operations – experience which will prove helpful when shaping Proteus’ proposition.
Kirsty Munro, a highly experienced developer, with expertise in streamlining the development process, joins the team as Dev Ops Engineer. In her new role at Proteus, Kirsty will be responsible for simplifying and automating the processes that underpin development of Proteus’ high performing, scalable software solutions. She joins Proteus from global insurance company, Cigna.
Graeme Watt, an experienced designer who has worked in UX, UI and product design for over ten years will take responsibility for digital product design and UX as Lead Product Designer. He joins from Tesco Bank having previously worked with Sharktower as one of the early members of the team.
Software engineers, Rose Hissink & Stephen Bradley complete the new line up. Rose, another former Sharktower team member, joins from Unity Technologies, a leading global platform for creating 3D content. Stephen joins from Edinburgh start up TVSquared where he was a full stack developer. In their new roles both will be responsible for delivering new features and enhancements across the Proteus product stack.
In addition to expanding its tech capabilities, Proteus has also recently recruited four new additions to the consulting practice in response to client demand. And the hunt for talent continues with the business looking to recruit new data analysts and data visualisation engineers in the coming months to upweight Proteus’ data team. Many will be based in the Edinburgh office, while others join from across the UK and further afield.
