TLT ARE proudly sponsoring Tech Nation’s Rising Stars for a second consecutive year, supporting the most exciting early-stage tech companies as they strive to become world-leading tech companies of the future.

The Rising Stars competition is designed to showcase and raise the profile of the best early-stage tech companies from all across the country and is open to UK headquartered digital tech companies at seed to pre-Series A funding stage, or have revenues of under £1.5m, that have been running for one to three years.

Over 340 applicants have been whittled down to just 33 innovative semi-finalists, which were selected by a panel of industry experts including TLT partners Mark Traynor and Nina Searle.

Three companies from Scotland have been selected, namely: Drinkly, a drinks-on-demand service that delivers specially selected drinks and snacks within the hour to customers in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London; Neatebox, Edinburgh-based creators of a platform designed to tackle personal loneliness and communication; and Talking Medicines, a Glasgow-based company that captures the digital voice of the patient, creating patterns of behaviours and commercialising it to brand managers in pharmaceutical companies.

Damien Bechelli, partner in TLT’s Glasgow office, says: “We’re really proud to be supporting Tech Nation and are privileged to work these innovative businesses at this exciting stage of their journey.

“Our fast growth team supports entrepreneurial businesses with the full range of their legal requirements, helping to keep them on course as they scale and grow their businesses, and we’re pleased to be able to offer this support through Tech Nation’s empowering programmes.”

In January 2020, all the semi-finalists will be given two days of expert training in Manchester before pitching for a place in the final. The top 20 businesses will be selected to pitch at the Grand Final in London in February in front of a high-profile panel and 200 investors and corporate leaders for the chance to be named one of Tech Nation’s 10 Rising Stars.

The ten finalists will receive a tailored package of support, including facilitated introductions and the opportunity to pitch their business in front of over 200 investors, accelerators, entrepreneurs and corporate leaders.
