AI scale-up Tomoro, which announced a £4 million investment to expand its Scottish team in May, has appointed Ami Islam to enhance its leadership presence in Scotland.

Tomoro, a prominent Artificial Intelligence scale-up that assists large enterprises in unlocking AI’s potential through custom AI agents, has welcomed industry expert Ami Islam as the Head of People, based in their Edinburgh office.

Prior to joining Tomoro, Ami Islam was instrumental in the rapid growth of the successful Data and AI consultancy Mudano, which experienced a 100% annual growth rate for five consecutive years before being acquired by Accenture in 2020.

Ed Broussard, Managing Director at Tomoro, said: “We are focused on building one of Europe’s next great AI companies.

“We have huge traction in the market, so the focus is on hiring and growing the greatest AI team in the country.

“There is no one with better experience to make that happen than Ami.”

He further emphasised Tomoro’s strategic expansion: “We are committed to building our team across our London, Manchester, and Edinburgh bases.

“Having Ami join in Edinburgh grows our leadership team in Scotland and further demonstrates our commitment to the Scottish AI ecosystem, on top of our commitment made earlier this year to invest £4 million in AI jobs in Scotland.”

Ami Islam, who joins Tomoro as Head of People, will spearhead recruitment, training, and development, driving the rapid expansion of the team.

She stated: “I am delighted to be joining Tomoro, who are one of the most exciting AI firms globally right now.

“Their partnerships with OpenAI and Nvidia mean they are working on some of the most exciting AI projects in the world.

“I look forward to helping scale the team to become one of the most successful and well-known enterprise AI firms in the UK.”

Tomoro collaborates with large enterprises across sectors such as Financial Services, Energy, Media, and Telecommunications to help them leverage AI to generate new revenue streams and reduce costs through custom-built AI Agents.

The company recently asserted that AI will revolutionize productivity so that a 3-day working week, without any loss of employee income, will be feasible within five years.
