DeepSeek formally released its V4 Pro model on 13 August, pricing V4-Pro-0813 several times higher than its V4 Flash model as it moves the flagship into premium territory, Reuters reported. According to independent benchmarking firm Artificial Analysis cited by Reuters, V4-Pro-0813 is priced at $1.32 per million input tokens and $3.96 per million output tokens — about nine times the input price and 14 times the output price of V4 Flash, which Artificial Analysis lists at $0.14 and $0.28 respectively. The company said it will introduce peak and off-peak pricing for the V4 lineup; DeepSeek’s own documentation put the switchover at 16:00 UTC on 16 August 2026, with off-peak rates set at 50% below peak.

The launch follows earlier August reporting from Reuters, citing Bloomberg News, that DeepSeek had resumed its second funding round and was seeking close to $8 billion at a valuation of around 500 billion yuan ($74.09 billion), with Monolith Management in talks to participate. In July, Reuters reported the fundraise was being planned ahead of a potential mainland IPO; Bloomberg then reported it had been suspended, before it was resumed.
