Nvidia’s board has authorised an additional $150bn under the company’s existing share repurchase programme, taking the total remaining authorisation to $235bn.
The chipmaker says it is the largest increase to a share repurchase authorisation in history. It expects to carry out the full remaining programme through its 2028 financial year.
Jensen Huang, founder and chief executive of Nvidia, said: “NVIDIA’s growth is being driven by a once-in-a-generation platform shift to AI and accelerated computing.
“Our cash generation gives us the capacity to invest in the technologies that advance this transformation and return capital to shareholders. This authorization reflects our confidence in the long-term opportunity ahead.”
