Apple has announced its first foldable iPhone, with UK prices starting at £1,999. The iPhone Duo will open for pre-orders on 16 October and go on sale on 23 October.
Unveiled on 9 September, the device combines a 5.4-inch outer display with a 7.6-inch screen when opened. Its software supports two apps side by side, allowing users to work across documents, browse or hold a conversation with Siri while viewing other content.
The handset uses Apple’s A20 Pro chip, a titanium frame and a battery on each side of the fold. Touch ID is built into the side button, while the camera system includes 48-megapixel main and ultra-wide cameras.
Apple says developers can adapt their apps for the folding design, with Netflix, Zoom and Slack already supporting the larger display. The phone also includes Apple Intelligence and Siri AI, although some features vary by language and region.
The Duo will be offered in star white and night sky, with storage options from 256GB to 2TB. Support for Apple Pencil with USB-C is planned for later this year.
