An upcoming flagship quantum event will show how rapidly the industry has grown, as well as how the technology is maturing.

Organised under the banner of the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme by Innovate UK and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, this event brings together more than 100 exhibitors, over 2800 delegates, and an expanded international audience to witness the UK’s continued success in this growing field.

Among the speakers will be Emran Mian, Permanent Secretary of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) delivering the keynote address and Professor Charlotte Deane MBE Executive Chair of EPSRC.

Now in its 11th year, the Showcase celebrates the spectrum of activities from research through to demonstrable products. Some of the technologies on show include quantum computing, quantum sensing, imaging, communications, timing and navigation.

The significant investments made by the UK government are bearing fruit. Taking the Quantum Challenge as one example, the £312M of funding awarded since 2018 has attracted £1.3B of private investment, much from overseas.

The 2025 Showcase is part of the UNESCO International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, marking 100 years since the birth of quantum mechanics.

Roger McKinlay, Challenge Director, Quantum Technologies, Innovate UK, said: “This year’s Showcase is a celebration of how far we’ve come and how much more we have to look forward to.  Quantum Technologies are now clearly a growth opportunity for the UK.

“We believe the UK National Quantum Technologies Showcase is the largest national celebration in this important global industry. We want to celebrate but also impress future investors, suppliers, collaborators and customers. This year we welcome delegations from Australia, Canada, Denmark, Japan, South Korea and the Netherlands. We are particularly pleased to welcome Horizon Europe representatives to the Showcase for 2025.”

The event takes place from 9am-5pm on Friday 7 November at Business Design Centre London. Admission is free.
