Aberdeen City Council has provided funding to enable the Digital Support for Business Programme, an initiative designed to strengthen the digital capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.

The project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity fund and enabled by Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council. The support is available for all businesses and organisation based in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.

Councillor Alex McLellan, the Council’s Finance and Resources Convener, said:  “Building on the success of previous funding for the Digital Support for Business Programme, we’re delighted to continue this important work. In today’s fast-changing digital landscape, this project plays a vital role in helping businesses and organisations address challenges, embrace innovation, and strengthen their competitiveness”

“Last year, over 80 projects were completed in Aberdeen City, providing one-to-one support, surgeries and digital support workshops covering a diverse range of areas including digital strategy, web support and IT. I would encourage any business in need of support to get in touch and take advantage of the expertise available”

The project is delivered by Business Gateway Aberdeen City & Shire and builds upon the success of the previous year’s programme, where over 80 projects were completed.

This programme aims to equip local businesses with the digital skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital economy. As part of Scotland’s broader digital strategy, the Digital Support for Business Programme is aligned with the objectives set out in the Scottish Government’s National Strategy for Economic Transformation (NSET).

This initiative provides targeted support to help SMEs increase their digital capabilities, enabling them to enter new markets, trade internationally, and improve overall business efficiency.

Businesses interested in accessing support through the Digital Support for Business Programme can enquire through an online form, indicating the type of support and the specific areas they wish to focus on. Support will be reviewed by Business Gateway and support will be provided by a consultant.
