FDM Group, a global business and tech consultancy, is set to host three key events at this year’s Leeds Digital Festival to unlock the potential of the next generation of workers in tech

Career Kickstarter: Student Tech Bootcamp’ will be a hands-on bootcamp style event, hosted by FDM’s Skills Lab Coaches where candidates will have the opportunity to work hands-on in an industry-approved wireframe project. They will be working in cross-functional teams and showcase their skills to an expert judging panel.

The event will take place on 24 September from 12pm- 1pm.

The FDM Skills Lab is a dynamic experiential learning experience for consultants, immersed in hands-on, scenario-based activities that mirror the challenges they will face in their professional roles.

80 percent of employers working with apprentices saw higher staff retention, while 92 percent reported an uptick in workforce motivation and satisfaction. FDM’s ‘Unlock Potential: Your Business and Apprenticeships’ expert-led panel will discuss the importance of apprentices being brought into the team and employers will share their first-hand experience with successful apprentices.

The event will take from on 25 September from 10:20am- 4pm.

There will also be a ‘Risk, Regulation & Compliance: Data and AI Transformation’ event, where two expert-led panels will discuss ‘Getting your data right’ and ‘Building an AI chatbot for compliance’.

This final event will be held on 26 September from 9:30am-11am.

Leeds Digital Festival is taking place between 16 – 27 September, where FDM’s workshops will be spread across three consecutive days during the festival.

Sheila Flavell CBE, COO at FDM Group comments: “This year, we are thrilled to be bringing our industry knowledge and skills to Leeds Digital Festival, to help teach, network and inspire the next generation of talent.

The events that we’re hosting will provide experimental learning for candidates, networking with industry-leading professionals and many more exciting opportunities across the three days of the festival.

As the transformation in tech continues to shape businesses, the need for skilled consultants is always increasing. Sharing our expertise at the festival allows us to play our part in the idea that no aspiring tech professional is left behind. The mission to solidify Leeds as a digital hub and bring together the tech community within the city is something we stand behind. This is a great opportunity for us to tap into the next generation of tech talent and show them the exciting future they can be a part of in this ever-changing landscape.”
