Glasgow-based health-tech firm ScribePro is set to play a role at the biggest sporting event in the world, with 29 national teams – and counting – signed up to its digital medical management platform ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The clinician-led system will support player welfare, injury management and medical communication throughout the tournament, positioning Scottish innovation at the centre of elite global football.

Scotland’s national team was the first in the world to implement ScribePro Team, giving the platform an early proving ground inside an elite football environment. Ian Maxwell, Chief Executive of the Scottish FA, said: “The Scottish FA has seen first-hand the value that high-quality digital medical systems can bring to elite football environments. Supporting player welfare, safeguarding medical information and enabling effective communication between medical teams has never been more important in the modern game. It’s fantastic to see Scottish innovation contributing, particularly at an event as significant as the World Cup.”

Developed by clinicians for clinicians, ScribePro Team is designed to simplify and improve medical management within elite sport. Available across desktop, tablet and mobile devices, the platform enables medical teams to securely manage player records, injury tracking, medications, training and playing status, reporting, voice notes and medical documentation in real time, with offline functionality and live tournament support for high-pressure, fast-moving environments.

Assistant Scotland manager and former international Steven Naismith, who has also invested in the company, said: “Football has changed massively over the years, and the level of detail, preparation and player care involved at the elite level is incredible. Technology now plays a huge role in helping teams manage player health and performance. What ScribePro has built is genuinely impressive because it has been developed with clinicians and around the real pressures of elite football.”

Chief executive Fidelma Beagan described the World Cup deployment as a significant milestone in the company’s international growth. She said: “Scotland has always been a nation to punch above its weight so to see a Scottish company supporting player welfare at the football World Cup is incredibly exciting and a hugely significant moment for our business as we continue to scale internationally. ScribePro was built around a very clear purpose: creating practical technology that genuinely helps clinicians and improves care for athletes operating in elite sport. The demands placed on medical teams during major tournaments are enormous. Clinicians are making important decisions under intense pressure, often across multiple locations and within very tight timeframes. ScribePro Team has been designed to simplify those processes, improve communication and support consistent, high-quality medical management throughout the tournament environment. But this is about much more than technology. The fact that so many international teams have chosen our platform demonstrates that Scottish innovation has a huge role to play on the world stage. Scotland has a proud history of contributing ideas, engineering and technology that have global impact, and we’re proud to be part of that story.”

Dr Jonny Gordon, Chief Medical Officer and Men’s National Team doctor at the Scottish FA and former CEO of ScribePro, said the platform was built out of first-hand experience of elite sport. He added: “Player welfare and medical governance within elite sport have evolved enormously during the last decade, particularly within football. At major international tournaments, clinicians are working in highly complex environments where secure communication, accurate documentation and rapid access to medical information are critically important. ScribePro was created by people working directly within elite sport who understood those pressures first-hand. To now see the platform being used across the World Cup is incredibly rewarding and reflects years of collaboration between clinicians, developers and governing bodies focused on improving standards of care within the game.”

Founded in 2018, ScribePro is a Glasgow-based sports technology company providing secure digital medical management software designed to support athlete health and wellbeing. Developed by clinicians for clinicians, its ScribePro Team platform enables sports teams and governing bodies to manage player medical records, injury tracking, treatment reporting and welfare monitoring through an intuitive digital system that combines medical expertise with digital innovation.
