InTouchNow has raised £2.3 million in seed funding to develop its AI voice technology for GP practices and extend its reach across the UK. The round was led by Ada Ventures, which invested £1.1 million, with participation from Exceptional Ventures and Kadmos Capital.
The Hertfordshire company said the funding would support further investment in its AI and speech models, multilingual capabilities, information governance and clinical safety. It also plans to deepen integrations with GP electronic patient record systems and develop new distribution partnerships.
InTouchNow began as a human call centre supporting NHS services before developing an AI voice agent for general practice. According to Ada Ventures, the system answers calls around the clock, supports more than 80 languages and over 200 regional accents, and can collect symptoms, assist with triage and appointment booking, and write outcomes into NHS clinical systems.
The investor said up to 70 per cent of calls can be handled without human intervention, while clinical or complex queries are routed to practice staff. Patients are told that they are speaking to an AI system and can request a human at any point.
Ada said the technology is now used by more than 150 GP practices. It reported that, across 18 practices covering 240,000 patients, the share of calls answered within two minutes increased from around half to two-thirds, while average waiting times fell by more than 30 per cent.
Michael Tefula, principal and head of product at Ada Ventures, said: “Intouchnow helps more patients get through to their GP, across dozens of languages and accents, while giving practice staff more time for patients. This is exactly the kind of practical, responsible AI we believe can strengthen access to care across the NHS.”
